Take a Trip Tuesday: The Zoo

We decided to start Andrew's summer off right by taking him to the Waco Zoo. He's been to the Austin Zoo before, but he was quite a bit younger, and this Zoo is more zoo-like. He's also at an age where he really loves animals, so we thought he'd be really excited. He was! He loved the zoo and we had a great time, although he seemed just as excited about running around and being outside as he was about the animals. He was most excited to see the giraffes, and those were his favorites once we got there as well. Overall it was a great trip, and we look forward to more fun outings this summer!

Ben got to attend this fun trip as well, although he was less excited about the animals, and more interested in sleeping in the stroller and eating! Although it might seem a little crazy to bring a 6-week-old to the zoo, we are trying to keep up activities with Andrew this summer, and get Ben used to going with the flow. He's still at the "easy" age where he sleeps in his carseat and travels pretty well. Hopefully he does as well on future trips as he did at the zoo!

Hello sneaky tiger! (A line from one of Andrew's favorite books, Hello Texas!)

Andrew's favorites!

We almost ended up having an impromptu biology lesson. The giraffes seemed like they were trying to make more giraffes. Although they weren't quite successful, the adults at the zoo seemed to be getting quite a giggle out of the situation!

He loved this teepee, and couldn't care less about the bison!

This slide went through a big fish tank thing with otters in it! Although Andrew seemed uninterested in the otters, the slide was a big hit!

He was sad because he wanted to go up the stairs we were sitting on, and we told him that we couldn't because we had the strollers.

This is me telling him that we could go up the stairs if he would smile for a picture with me...

...and the bribery works!
